At Shemwell's the secret's in the sauce! Known by locals and travelers as a favorite BBQ spot on the byway, the Shemwell family has been in the BBQ business since the 1920s. The brothers opened their first BBQ stand in Marion, Illinois. Sometime in the 1930s, Cash Shemwell moved to Cairo and opened the first Shemwell's BBQ stand. Today Shemwell's has a menu that features delicious BBQ, pizzas, salads, and more.
