The 1,101 acres of land and 65-acre lake at Randolph County State Recreation Area offer a variety of outdoor recreation opportunities. The lake offers fishing for channel catfish, redear and bluegill sunfish, walleye, saugeye, and rainbow trout along with largemouth bass, green sunfish, bullhead, and crappie. Hiking trails offer visitors a great chance to view an abundance of songbirds. There are a variety of campsites, from primitive to some offering electrical hookups. Equestrians will love the 11.6 miles of trails that lead through the woods and along the lake shore, as well as the equestrian campsite with horse stalls. Those same equestrian trails offer a perfect spot for cross country skiing during winter. Hunting for squirrel, dove, deer, rabbit, quail, and woodcock are popular.
