This 30 mile segment of the Great River Road features the mighty Mississippi on one side and the bluffs on the other, creating some of the prettiest views along the route. The 60 mile roundtrip has heavy traffic on the weekend. Begin by heading west on State Route 100 from Alton to Elsah, Grafton, and Pere Marquette State Park and back.
