Lock and Dam 21 is 1,265 feet long and consists of 3 roller gates and 10 Tainter gates. The lock is located on the Illinois side and has an observation deck which is an excellent place to view bald eagles during the winter. It has boat ramp access just downstream of the lock and dam.
