The Golden Eagle Ferry carries passengers across the Mississippi from Illinois, near Golden Eagle in Calhoun County, to Missouri, near Kampville, north of St. Charles. Ride the ferry to get fresh fruits and cider from roadside stands and local orchards during the summer and fall or to view eagles feeding along the river during the winter. The ferry may be closed due to river levels, but is generally open year-round seven days a week. A cash only fee is required to ride the ferry.
