Bald Knob Wilderness - Shawnee National Forest

Adjacent to the towing Bald Knob Cross, Bald Knob Wilderness is a rugged and remote wilderness. Visitors can enjoy bird and wildlife viewing, hiking, and horseback riding along Bald Knob Trail. The 3 mile loop can be strenuous due to the steep, rocky slopes of the Ozark-like terrain. Dispersed, primitive tent camping is allowed in the wilderness area, check the website for restrictions.
