Conquer Chiari Walk Across America Quincy

09/22/18 - 09/22/18

All America Park
1419 Bonasingna Drive
Quincy, IL

What: The Conquer Chiari Walk Across America is a series of coordinated awareness/fundraising walks being held across the country on the same day Why: To raise awareness of Chiari Malformation and to raise money for valuable research. In 2017, the event was held at 80 locations, involved more than 10,000 participants, and raised over $450,000 for research and other patient centered programs. Since its inception in September 2008, the Conquer Chiari Walk Across America has been held in 203 cities in 47 states with nearly 80,000 participating walkers, and has raised over 4.5 million dollars for research.. The total cash amount raised at the Quincy walk in 2017 was $4,675.52! We also had over $6000 worth of donations to our walk again this year between water, food, hotel stays, resources etc. We really couldn’t do it without our wonderful community! Who: Everyone is invited to participate. A minimum donation of $25 is suggested. Participants are asked to pre-register on-line at www.conquerchiari.org. T-shirts will be provided to those who pre-register by 8/16 and contribute at least $25. Contact: Nicky Boden at (573) 587-5050 or conquerchiariquincy@gmail.com. Where: This years walk will once again be held in one of Quincy’s beautiful parks!! We will be at the riverfront once again, this time closer to Quinsippi Island. It’s located at 1419 Bonasinga Drive. Cannot wait to see everyone there this year!!!! The biggest difference of course is that this years walk is going to be a late afternoon walk and go into the evening! We will be trying to have a Chinese lantern release in memory of those Chiarians that we’ve lost, and in honor of those that are still fighting as well. So please, come out and celebrate with us!
